Cripplegate Christmas Cracker!

The Cripplegate Christmas Cracker event is to be held at the popular park on Sunday December 18 from midday until 3pm.

The community event will include a Christmas singalong of carols and popular Christmas tunes performed by Polka Dot Robot, along with festive food and stalls selling Christmas goodies. There will also be a merry-go-round and other entertainment, plus the chance for youngsters to meet Santa and the Doorstop Princess.

A Christmas tree is to be planted at Cripplegate Park during the event, which has been organised by the Friends of Cripplegate Park with support from Worcester City Council Community Engagement Team and St. Johns Ward councillors Richard Udall, Robyn Norfolk and Matthew Lamb.

Gheluvelt Park is also to host a Christmas event on Sunday December 18. The popular carols in the park event is free to attend and includes a brass band, traditional carousel and hot food. The event begins at 2.30pm, with the singing starting at 4pm.

Mayor of Worcester, Councillor Adrian Gregson, said: “These carol concerts at two of our wonderful parks are the perfect way to get Christmas off to a great start – and they are free to attend too! Why not wrap up warm and take the family along for some festive fun?”
