The Railway Children

This Easter join us for a nostalgic Railway Children adventure, as Spetchley hosts an interactive themed trail and immersive promenade performances by costumed characters from this much loved story. Adapted specially for Spetchley by Ali Gorton Chambers from her acclaimed stage production of E. Nesbit’s classic which starred Children’s TV favourite Brian Cant as the Old Gentleman.

‘No sleepers at this superb rail tale. The production is a major delight for younger patrons’  Plymouth Theatre Royal 2005.

Journey back in time to meet Railway Children Roberta, Peter and Phyllis. Explore the bygone era of steam trains through the eyes of Mr Perks the station porter. The interactive trail also includes two adorable puppet characters – Peter’s dog James and Ten Twenty the Station Master’s cat who simply can’t wait to meet our very young visitors.   ‘ The cute character puppets were a big hit with younger members of the audience’  Royal and Derngate Theatre Northampton 2003.

Don’t forget to bring a clean hanky to wave!
