Market stall on the high street

Young Enterprise Spring Fair

On Saturday the 16th March from 10:00am until 3:00pm, Young Enterprise students representing schools from all over Worcestershire will line the High Street to test their selling and customer service skills.

These students are all taking part in Young Enterprise’s Company Programme Company Programme Overview which supports 15 to 19 year olds to set up and run their own business across one academic year. These young people work together in small groups to form a Company – raising real finance, carrying out market research, developing their own product or service, taking this to market and managing the company finances. These comprehensive experiences of enterprise improve the employability of young people, developing skills and attitudes in key competencies including financial literacy, teamwork, communication, resilience and problem solving.

Young Enterprise  believe that the potential of the UK’s young people is unlimited, and an academic education on its own is not enough. As a national charity Young Enterprise want to motivate young people to succeed in the changing world of work by equipping them with the work skills, knowledge and confidence they need.

Since 1962, Young Enterprise have worked with both the business and education sectors to engage over four million young people. YE believe passionately in the power of ‘learning by doing’ and the difference that it has made and continues to make to the lives, futures and ambitions of young people.

This event will give the students first-hand experience in setting up a trade stand and creating a display and brand image to promote their product or service and engage with the public. This is essential learning and confidence building as they work as a team on the day.
