MASS IN BLUE

Will Todd’s MASS IN BLUE is an exhilarating jazz setting of the Latin Mass for chorus, soprano soloist and 12-piece jazz ensemble.  It is performed here by a 170-strong chorus of students and teachers from Worcestershire, the UK and the USA with the composer at the piano, the Will Todd Ensemble, soprano Lorna James, and conductor Neil Ferris (Director, BBC Symphony Chorus). The concert is presented by Guest Artist Jess Gillam MBE (saxophonist and BBC R3 broadcaster). The programme includes Choral Improvisations with inspirational vocalist/composer Aga Serugo-Lugo, Gillam’s dazzling solo set, and Will Todd’s beautiful arrangement of Amazing Grace with saxophone solo composed especially for Jess Gillam and this occasion.
